You are beyond skin deep.

Why do people hide from themselves? Why do some people change or modify that which was perfectly fine to begin with? With the public importance of an Extreme Makeover rising, it is a wonder as to how much of the body will be left human and untouched in the future!
This poises a deeper question. Is beauty truly skin deep? Let us take a closer look, shall we?
|
| There are many types of people, people who will go to great lengths to beautify themselves. Women and men slaving over their looks to become something they are not. They take away from themselves the natural shine of their true Inner Light. Yes, to the eye, folks can be rather displeasing! As Johann von Goeth said, "A soul that sees beauty may sometimes walk alone."
But is that not the beauty of chance? Our being, our absolute existence is chance, why strip ourselves down to the bones and re-work a masterpiece? Sure we all have faults that seem as though the "creator" has cursed us with, but it is pride the driver that pushes us to dwell upon those things. To steer away from our imperfections that drag us down, we can try looking at what makes us unique. To change those unique qualities would shape us into something unlike ourselves, foreign and incongruous.
So for those of you who feel downtrodden with distaste for your looks, go ahead and get an Extreme Makeover of some kind, try out the "new" you. But you might as well change your name because who you were before was lost a nose ago.
